Can you cure a drug addiction with hypnosis?

A friend of mine who I care for very dependent on cocaine. She tried to rehab once and it did not work, plus they do not believe in the 12 step model. Do you think hypnosis would work? I truly believe that they want change, they just can not "just say no" sometimes. Is there any help for a person like this? If she really wants to stop her abuse she should not have trouble saying no and rehabilitation must have worked very powerful addiction is not wrong, maybe she just will not or maybe she will not have to change their habits. I think a lot of hypnosis can help with addiction, im sure if she goes to her doctor that she will be able to help. Unfortunately, I believe it is on the NHS (the UK) try this link and this is a song to your friend Drug Addiction Help Free Phone 08,000,380,480 http://www.hypnosisexpert.co.uk/HypnotherapyAndDrugAddiction.html 12step rehabs, treatment and programs have a poor chance of success. Usually worse if a person internalizes the ideas that have a lifelong disease and are powerless over addiction button to stop addiction is the motivation and determination. Here is a list of several alcohol treatment methods in order of efficiency (with the exception of medicines, treatment is basically the same for drugs or alcohol): You will notice that http://www.behaviortherapy. com / whatworks.htm 12step facilitation and AA are near the bottom. Hypnosis evaluated 31 I do not think that hypnosis could work on curing their addiction. This is something that needs to face to face and deal with them. I was just like her and I took several rehabilitation centers before they actually shot him. Go to rehab and do all the things they say that will not heal, you must be willing to give reality to the program and do not expect a quick fix. The reason it would not be in 12-step program of rehabilitation work or not because they are not really ready to give up cocaine, when it reached its lowest point, she is so desperate to escape the misery of addiction that they are willing to do something to get better. Remember, this sound is the HER-time low. Simply because the research for their lives and how she is sad to see them in itself is extremely painful for you, none of this is important because it must be the feeling of those things. As much as it sucks you can not powerless to do anything to help, you just have to wait until they're ready to get better. If you are at their distance, because you can not see destroying his life is what you should do. And who knows, maybe you lose all the people in your neighborhood will be one of the things that make them weak. Good luck! I work on constantly. Drug Addiction, How can drugs be so powerful?

I have friends who took drugs and started to get their lives back together. It seems that they did so well, so a little behind all be sent back to drugs. These guys were super smart. As can be so powerful drug when people assume they know they will lose everything? I know the temptations of alcohol, snuff and food, but the bad effects take a while. The drug works on the downhill so fast, and they know, why? Please help me to understand. I can trust around my family? How long before they know they are safe? Not that the drug is so powerful is that the drugs made the man so weak in many aspects of addiction. It's hard to explain, but just get some kind of in your head and all I want to do is get that feeling again. I used to do much without being addicted, but I've seen some friends go down that road and it was not pretty. It's just an irresistible urge never goes away. You have to fend for themselves, because that is what they need to restore You do not need alcohol and tobacco are drugs? Food Tobacco kills a lot of people. So even if they last longer, they are clearly the most deadly temptation is there. Myocardial infarction is the # 1 cause of preventing deaths and lung disease is the # 2 To the same reasons that people eat too much and start smoking, the same reason that people on drugs. They find the rewards outweigh the risks. People know that smoking and eating is more than likely dead, but they do it anyway. Same with drugs, they know it will probably affect their lives, but they do them anyway. Most importantly, your * source * of these are considered drugs. Got them from a pharmacy a prescription from your doctor to get? Or did you get them on the street? If you have a prescription from a doctor, when you and / or family protection trust (s), you have no reason to be afraid of them dependent. But if you feel that you can consult on a particular drug (s) are dependent on a therapist in the addiction, so you can finish this very special feelings without fear (you can support the therapists ask the group, and.) It is not easy to get over an addiction, but with help can * you * do it. It's your choice * * courage to ask for this assistance. I wish you luck with this. It is not just a psychological addiction, there is a physical dependence. Their bodies search topic, and it is painful, and they feel very, very sick if they do not get it. This and the effects of the substance, change their ability to think clearly, and they want relief, they take the drug again. I've never had an addiction, I have never used tobacco, but I have to take antidepressants and I are difficult to treat, because I either a reaction to medication, or they simply do not work. It's hard, because if you had these body chemistry just comfortable enough to this.but kind when it's time to drink or drugs are typed, all good intentions out the window. Addicts and alcoholics are so good at excuses and manipulation of a person in order to avoid problems (or so they think) and money for what appears to destroy them.it they think everyone is so stupid. I have a friend from the church we started talking and her husband are going out for 2 months and is a recovering drug addict and needs help with verses from the Bible to refer to him in his travels. Psalm 91 Psalm 37, there is power in psalms.I hope these writings will help you in your walk with God all the Psalm 91. It's wonderful! Will Rehab actually help someone with a strong drug addiction?

And how this process works, and it is expensive? I need it for someone to check in. I fear for their lives in danger! Rehab work for most people as long as they like better. They should only work to heal differently. Rehab is just a tool not a miracle. I am not entirely sure on prices, but if they want more, worth every penny. Many people in and out of rehab for the first time or two they do not want to get better. The people around them wants them to be better, but they are not. I do not know if it's expensive, I doubt it, but IY really helps, because it keeps you in the room until you DNT think about drugs, but if you're not just rehab and everything that a person must helps.A reason to want to stop and really want to stop it! I believe that everything in head.mind matter.if than they want to stop them. Rehabilitation centers have different philosophies. Some patients simply do not agree with the treatment plan or not think it's good for them, the person must also have a kind of dedication to improvement. Sometimes this commitment before going to rehab, and is sometimes inspired during their stay. Many people go to rehab and full of despair to a life of drug abuse behind him and has released a new person without addiction. It takes a lot for all these things coming together. The person must be sufficiently ready, willing and strong, and according to the treatment. Some people believe that the 12 points are not for them, or spiritual healing is not really worth them.but. If you have a serious addiction, it is recommended to stay in a treatment center instead of being an outpatient. The average time spent in these places is at least a month. They can be very expensive because you pay for lodging, meals, therapy, therapists, doctors, nurses and other health professionals and teachers, yoga teachers and looking up some art treatment plants near or far, if that is what you want and see what you think here person would be best for you. But in the end they must be ready to go. Impulses and try not to force it. Find a place where you think they feel comfortable and flourish. Some people do better with tough love and strict rules, while others must be nourished and encouraged. Efforts to find a place that feels right to expect and pay anywhere from $ 10,000 - $ 50,000 depending on where you are and the standards of the facility. My best wishes go to you and your friend. The process is not expensive, because an addict does not have a hotel, just a clean bed to sleep eating good nutritious food and medical personnel around the clock. How do you help someone with a drug addiction problem?

Medicine.where addicted to pain I do first? Someone has to go through it to help someone he loved? I was dependent on the codeine. I've been away for a month. I went to the doctor and told him what was happening (I was there for two years, nine tablets a day) prescribed Dizapam She is like a sleeping pill, so I was pretty well knocked out in two weeks. Whenever I have a wish or have irritated my doctor had to extract (about 4 times a day). Now I'm in counseling for drug addiction and have no intention of taking codeine again. Talk to your friend, but I can say now that I do not want is what he has to say. They have to hit the ground before asking for help. I am a recovering addict, so it can help a bit (I hope). The most important thing to know is that the addict will not stop until you are ready to go. Even if you ask them and say that most likely will not stop. You can ask them to NA meetings, it is a good start, whatever you do, do not give them ultamatums, most users choose drugs for almost everything and everyone. You can search www.narcoticsannonymous.com to a meeting in your area if they do not agree to go. In the absence of NA around you try Alcoholics annonymous, visit their website, which is free to www.alcoholicsannonymous.com or a number. Call them and ask them if they can go to meet her. I go to AA meetings, because I get more of them when the NA group around here, we all follow the same steps and principles. It took me a month of rehabilitation, trying to clean up, so do not think it is possible that they may do so immediately. If you want you can go to a alanon meeting.just ask people in the NA to tell how it would be a meeting alanon around you. If not maybe there is an open NA meeting here, you can go to one of these two to learn about addiction I really hope that you learn! I hope it's an easier life in order, was what, but it is a terrible thing to have in your life. Good luck to you and your family. Frankly, if your friend wants to help you maintain, be taken to do so. You have to stop it or they do not want them to have a problem. I was addicted to methamphetamine when I was 13 and I left cold turkey without my parents know I was on it. It was the hardest thing I ever did. If your friend is not the best thing to do is ensure that there is something to take them on high can not codeine, oxy end, nothing. Be aware, but when you raise them, they are probably angry because they do not think they have a problem, and it is very difficult to get through them. Good Luck. It is a difficult time. How do I help him get over his past drug addiction?

I just started dating an old friend from School. He was open and honest with me about how to use medications in recent years, but recently resigned because he was almost dead and Oded. He still talks about it, but after talking about the fear and tears begin to fill his eyes. How I can help you overcome this pain? Rosa Belle - I can not send because I do not have as an option in your profile. Please email me so I can contact you. I will not give it up. He stopped. He is upset about how things were. But to talk about it helps to look. I wonder what else I can do. Me sorry is not enough. You do not have parental support if the drug use of the mother. Tell him to try a natural, safe and legal for the store to get high herbal smoke will not help. Your pain will help keep it clean and sober is a good thing. Addiction is a disease that stays with a person for life. A drug addict is the highest risk of relapse if he or she forgets how bad it maybe you should encourage him to attend NA meetings could. Finally, he will by sponsoring other volunteers. This may help to remind him why he is clean in the first place - and give him a sense of satisfaction to help others. My friend used to do a lot of medicines as well. His mother had cocaine and that he therefore has an innate dependence. Right now he still smokes every day and smoke pot about once a week and drink on weekends. From my experience, all you can really do it for him. My friend told me that this is the best thing I do. I still want to help him with everything and I always want everything for him, want him to feel better. It's weird, but - I think in life we are pleased to see that others are good around us and see that we make them happy. My recommendation is to be happy around him. See gladly make him happy. If you want to talk more, feel free to contact me there is no such thing as a dependency on drugs "past". If this is his first release, he will likely relapse, probably more than once. How can I help my big brother overcome his drug addiction?

My brother has a relationship with Mary Jane (marijuana). He knows that this is not going well for him, but he says he likes what he does, he uses it. The thing is, Mary Jane is really affecting his life. He gets bad grades in school (he is really smart, so I do not know how it happened) and he gets worse in baseball. He spends more time in his room hanging out with Mary Jane, who finished with someone. I think he really needs help. He is such a talented person and I do not think that his talents go to waste policy. We are from Eastport Maine. Do your parents know? I'll say to boot from my parents. After that, it is not much that can do other than pray. Try talking to him and let him know what others see happen with his life, but without trying to stop him, you're wasting your breath. If he is still a minor, you can try one adult (parent, teacher, counselor, or a preacher, perhaps) who can help with legal channels if necessary to talk. But from my experience with my son on drugs, I know no one can help if you need help feel for you. I can relate. This is a common problem and very difficult to solve. The heads of marijuana does not feel that there is no harm because the safety of drugs called. The company has sent a false message to the pot. If you use a change of mind (psychotropic) drugs every day, will be affected. Period. Do not think you are indispensable to the outcome. I love him and trust that you will see the light. I suggest you go to people in the ma-online.org and ask the good people. If I could make it go to this "chat" for himself, maybe just dig the well ex-bosses who attend there and learn a lot from them. First, face it, not go to our first parents. Understand the situation, have an understanding of what your situation is now. How can I overcome my prescription drug addiction?

Hi, I'm addicted to the drug for about 2 years. This is because I was so depressed. I am desperate for help, because I have a problem with suicide and cutting at times too. Thank you depends on whether or illegally buy prescription drugs and what is the drug. You should inform your doctor and ask for help. I did the same and it is a difficult question and no drugs in the brain, you probably will decline again and the doctor should know. The withdrawal is dangerous in terms of what medications you use. Narcotics Anonymous is an excellent resource. Hope you can help - can not do it alone. Contact the doctor who prescribed the drug for you and for him to share the addiction. If he is aware of his case, may propose a rehabilitation center to overcome the drug that causes dependence. It may be that you are on another medication to help treat your suicidal thoughts and cutting Ask your doctor for assistance should be granted. If your doctor is not willing to help, ask the name of another doctor. The sooner you ask, the quicker the start of treatment and the less it will be difficult to treat. You do not mention what drugs were prescribed are. They likely to cope with your illness, it seems that you do not give a review of this condition and maybe a cocktail of self-help therapy groups and alternative medicine. My boyfriend is struggling with drug addiction. What is the best way to help him?

I worked with him for almost 5 years and the last two, he came into the fabric. He knows he has a problem want to help but not really. He thinks he can do on its own pace. I'm pretty deep in our relationship and my last fight, or he gets help or I'm gone. I think only he can save himself, but I am still worried for his safety and his family. What is the best way to handle this situation? At some point he will see him come for help. Maybe if you want to leave, he will push to do it. But overall it will help. Luckily, you have made the best decision for themselves. Thinking of oneself. Unfortunately, life is a drug addict is filled with relapse after relapse in most cases. This review is solely on the statistics: in this relationship. Your decision, of course. I'm sorry what happened to him. I'm an addict for about four months of abstinence. I've been clean for 5 years before I relapsed. Only you can help is to allow him to help until he wants it period! no ifs or buts. Intervention! Did he commit themselves away for medical treatment. Try it will still be a while. Of the relationship, if he refuses, it will be difficult for you. You put your work and yourself in danger, and if you have kids.them. When police bust your house or his, and you may there. You prison. Good luck! There is also no simple way to handle a drug addict trying to move him to do the best for you rehab for both him and you should be left for you. He will probably only knows how much this addiction has ruined his life and has no choice but to get help. If he wants to again and again to have a girlfriend, he must be kept clean of drugs. How selfish, as it would if you would seem.ask the rest of your life to help an addict loser.it does nothing but give you use down.t This person must work out their own problems the best you can do is cut your losses and move on with your life time for "tough love". Find a drug rehab and get him in - whether he likes it or not. Internet and even the yellow pages are a good source of how to proceed. Hospitals, the priesthood is also helpful. Get him that he should thank you for it one day and you will have a future together - otherwise he is just spiraling down and leave their loved ones to ask "why"? Just do it! Talk to him or his friends, parents! Tell him that you will support him if he wants to quit, but you are gone, if he does not. Your story is very strange to me at the beginning of the year I left my now ex for five years. He was arrested for some six months before the break. If he can not get help or stop it, leave. It will hurt, but if he does not stop, it is your pain worse. Tell him if he could be together, you can try again as a couple, but what is best for you. You can be his friend. How do I intervene with my buddy's drug addiction?

My boyfriend suffers from addiction to heroin and I know I have to do something. I want to do an intervention, but do not know how. Can you help me? Call 911. This is an emergency. Football is in the DNA can farm! and tell him he has to sit and talk with you first to say that her boyfriend has a drug problem. This is the first step for them to get help. According to your boyfriend wants to help. It s so hard to help someone who does not think he has a problem or even close. This person should want. We need to continue discussions with his friend and let them know it's worth. You should also inform him that if he did not stop to kill him and do not want that to happen to him. You can also search for programs that can help. May God bless you in your effort to help his friend. I hope someone can give a better answer than that, but the first thing you do is watch a show called Intervention (I think) on the cable network A & E to get an idea of how an intervention on the other try to connect a pair of local drug clinic, you can run a county, and ask that you mean someone who specializes in making them. Third, do not try to pull this off on their own. Get a group of friends and family who really care about your friend and make it a team effort. You can give another type of support you need to go through it. Good luck and God bless. You're a good friend to take this on. The first thing to do is convince your friend to undergo drug testing. Show what makes your body and tell the potential impact of their actions. After that, try to persuade him to enter a drug rehabilitation treatment. Give all the support you need and always remember that they are always there if you need. Try to get him to look on the bright side of life and convince him to lead a healthy lifestyle if you have other questions about procedures, check the following sources.

What is it like to go through cold turkey for drug addiction?

I want details in relation to mental and physical pain, go to the people through. And personal experiences dealing with thoughts and feelings at that time. The way moved, walked, talked, in as much detail as possible. What attracted you to this drastic decision? Did it work? How was it? In a drug addict is set to play through cold turkey for a drama exam monologue. Help me! :) It is not a place you want to go, so do not play the game. You will be cold, even when you sweat, you shake involuntarily, as your body is shaken by convulsions. Keeping stop vomiting, and you will not yellow with hepatitis sets of nodes in the stomach twisted so hard that tears you have logged in, but do not stop when the pain and it's not enough, I can go, but I'm not going there. Once you've played Halo while I could not feel my hands and my father came to me and said: "David should stop using the box Halo" and I said 'no' em 'gave drugs and Turkey.

How common is drug ADDICTION amongst teenagers?

How do you know the difference between a teen who used marijuana leisure are chemically dependent versus one? Drug use is so prevalent among young people today and weeds, as I understand it, is stronger than ever. When you go, get help for a teenager, the pot is addictive, which is involved in this rehabilitation? 10 points for the answer with most details, please. There is no such thing as an addiction to marijuana. It just does not happen, and even if they did the only problem is, what a waste of money. Marijuana is not harmful to your health, and it really is not addictive. Oh, and if you want to say that it causes cancer. Well, yesterday I read an article in the newspaper about the shampoo and makeup can cause cancer. What is cancer these days? Weed is not physically addictive. It is much less dangerous than alcohol (alcohol is a physical dependence, and has been shown to cause much worse damage to health, and causes serious social problems weed) smoking marijuana is not going to fight for a cause or issue. children drunk. There are chemicals in marijuana is addictive. The only way to be mentally plate charge. Someone who is a "pot head" or "stoner" is someone who smokes pot several times a day, but simply because they like it, not because they have to. There are many different strains of marijuana and some are much more powerful than others. The mixture is well not only larger. different strains under different names and as someone who smokes marijuana is usually some tension. It is "common pot", which is commonly called "dirty grass" because less powerful of the cases, seeds dark brown or green and has a lot on it. This often will give someone a headache. Sometimes you have to smoke more of that feeling of "high" Some examples of the highest levels of marijuana are "Kush" Night of the White Rhinoceros "Maui" Stary ", just to name a few of the upper class are more expensive, color is bright green with red hair or white crystals in it and smells much stronger. Various types of marijuana that is more than others and the struggle relaxiong more energy. For the rehabilitation, there is treatment for the treatment of a contract no .because there is a withdrawal with methamphetamine or cocaine go to counseling and lifestyle change is to have a help teenagers, should be arranged or your parents (or guardian) must get the help 100-100 need not be an addiction, is a mindset people have about him. How do I help my wife with depression and drug addiction?

I need some advice to help my wife. You want it all, what is a drug and it takes too depressed. She has been in rehabilitation twice and tried to kill herself. She also overdosed on Tylenol. What should I do? It's pretty serious. The best thing you can do is a doctor (specialized in mental health) to visit. Just make rehabs usually did. If the root of the problem becoz many people do not take rehab seriously address. This is one thing that can be controlled if the mind and not just treat the body. (Try habits, without understanding is of no use change) and let them know that you are always there and will be there. Seeking professional help, especially you do not give up her hold on her, no matter what my mother has a drug problem and had it as far as I can remember remember.I tried to help, along with hospitals, the etc. I realized I can do is pray for her . Good luck and God bless. First, we must understand the responsibilities and the late start I know it's hard for you, but there are limits to what we are capable. It's hard when you have a loved one with an addiction. They often do not realize how much it hurts too much. I suggest you contact Al-Anon, an organization that helps families and friends of drug and alcohol dependent persons. You will learn what you can, and also its limitations. You sound like a caring person. I give him credit for having supported his wife during this difficult period. I hope the best for her and you. u can do all you have to want to surrender. This is probably not the magic answer was expected, but you can not do anything for her. Only she has the ability to fix or ruin your life. You can sit and not try to be your crutch to keep their land in their disease. I'm sure you've heard the term "activate" before. Do not. Whether you are with it or leave it if you have a healthy relationship elsewhere, good luck to you if you can give your wife that she is sick and needs help.then it for an evaluation at a hospital psychiatry . sometimes someone is in crisis, too many options and works better in a hospital inpatient program will deal with this problem every day with help from others who sit in the same boat. Is it ever too late to get a person help with drug addiction?

I have curiosity to see what all thinks. My my uncle is about 50 years ago and was a drug addict for several years. He seems to have serious psychological problems because of their constant use of crack cocaine. His brothers and sisters who are known to be educated about the effects of drug abuse, saying it was "too far." They do not believe anything would be able to help him.Basically, give up. I see it is showing signs of paranoia and schizophrenia, chronic, but it is never too late to help someone with an addiction? Thanks for your help! If you are unhappy, unable to function at any level, but must step in and get a great help if you is not happy with the way the sentence. I was an alcoholic people (up to 38 years) and happy enough. It is never too late. but if you can help my uncle wants to help. First, we must recognize that a problem in motion. For a long time I did not want to quit, no matter how many I said I really should not stop until I wanted NO! It is never too late to help a person addicted to drugs. Despite having spent most of his life, people always seek help and overcome his problem. It can be very difficult, if not intend to stop, but I think your uncle needs some help. A friend of mine was on crack for more than 10 years or more. It was getting to the point where I was kidding myself about everything, I mean, always looking out their windows, afraid to leave home, and she was so anorexic that languished. He thought everyone was there to pick it up. But she had a child 2 years and was nearly brought to its social services. So I think it was a reality for her. Now only smokes marijuana. May not be the best choice for your Uncle however. The sooner you help, the better. I think the more people who still support him to stop, the more likely it is to feel guilty smoking crack and the sooner he will not leave people develop schizophrenia in his 50s, so do not worry about it. It is never too late, but crack is a difficult question to flee. If the stack you got together and said he was a danger to himself and others (risk of injury, suicide) and that it is addictive, and you were willing to pay for private hospital care (about $ 50,000) and can come in, would he have a chance. It would be better to crack addicts in your area, how to treat addicts and to get to know him in the program to call. Or make a post of a mediator, where the whole family and good friends all his talk about his addiction and express how much they make out for him. That's all besides trying a person is ready to leave. My sister committed suicide, while the drugs in her mid-fifties. It would be better to crack addicts in your area, how to treat addicts and to get to know him in the program to call. Or make a post of a mediator, where the whole family and good friends all his talk about his addiction and express how much they make out for him. I think the more people who still support him to stop, the more likely it is to feel guilty smoking crack and the sooner he will not leave people develop schizophrenia in his 50s, so do not worry about it. Great books about someone dealing with a dangerous drug addiction?

I do not want self-help books. I want fiction or memoir of a person dealing with substance abuse. I do not want to be boring. Only raw, emotional and very realistic. I prefer female characters, but no matter the sex of the character, if it is a great book. You can then include a little bit out of me, or recommend a particular? Thanks. The adolescent substance typical book "Go Ask Alice", the diary of an anonymous young woman who was unwittingly drawn into the drug culture. Well, Willow is a very large book, even with someone addicted to the court, and no drugs. But it is a kind of similar, both are dangerous problems. No self-help or a sermon, it is only fiction and raw, emotional and realistic. And the person with the problem is female. I recommend the crank and Glass by Ellen Hopkins. Fallout comes out in September, I think. Crank is the first in a series of three. It has a female protagonist, and it is a very deep book, she is dependent on meth and tobacco. Go ask Alice .

How to become a drug addiction counselor?

What do I need more of? Where are the best schools for this? And the most important question of all, send a counselor if you have a criminal record (mostly drugs). The thing is that I want to help people, because I have experienced abuse and everything else, so I know how to help people, I just need certification. Major drug abuse first. It is a great article in the source how to become an addiction counselor. Hope that helps! The best drug counselors are recovering addicts, so yes you can an adviser despite a number of legal problems in the past. As far as college, do not know psychology. usually 1:02-year program. and it is a great abuse of the advice that a sense of community colleges offer. as far as a SYO from drugs if you do not have a crime then your probably good. and if you got when you were younger than 18 when they lost. confirm the identity of a school and ask if they can advise people despite appropriate grades for the Advancement of Health Education to provide certificates of addiction counseling. However, it also can help people to be a peer helper w / certification. Search local places that offer counseling, group therapy, etc. Best of luck to you! (PS do not look or intervention? Big Show) My alcohol and drug counselor has a master's degree in social work. So find a school with a degree in social work, then go to your masters, then you can specialize. If you can not find a school that offers a degree in social work and sociology or psychology .
