Great books about someone dealing with a dangerous drug addiction?

I do not want self-help books. I want fiction or memoir of a person dealing with substance abuse. I do not want to be boring. Only raw, emotional and very realistic. I prefer female characters, but no matter the sex of the character, if it is a great book. You can then include a little bit out of me, or recommend a particular? Thanks. The adolescent substance typical book "Go Ask Alice", the diary of an anonymous young woman who was unwittingly drawn into the drug culture. Well, Willow is a very large book, even with someone addicted to the court, and no drugs. But it is a kind of similar, both are dangerous problems. No self-help or a sermon, it is only fiction and raw, emotional and realistic. And the person with the problem is female. I recommend the crank and Glass by Ellen Hopkins. Fallout comes out in September, I think. Crank is the first in a series of three. It has a female protagonist, and it is a very deep book, she is dependent on meth and tobacco. Go ask Alice .
